What is Dog Moxie, and what do you sell?

Dog Moxie creates human-grade dog care products designed to meet the unique needs of dogs while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Today our product line is small but we're growing. Got an idea? Let us know!

How does Dog Moxie donate 100% of net profits?

We work directly with approved 501(c)(3) rescues, shelters, and sanctuaries that care for senior, special needs, and hospice dogs. After covering our basic operating costs, every dollar of profit is donated to these organizations to provide medical care, nourishment, and more.

What's the difference between a rescue and a sanctuary?

Fantastic question! There isn't a clear-cut answer to this, but generally speaking, rescues work on taking in dogs and getting them adopted. Sanctuaries welcome dogs whose home becomes the sanctuary, and the live out their lives there.

How do I know my purchase is making an impact?

We are committed to transparency. You can see the organizations we partner with and the impact of your contributions on our "Who You're Helping" page, where we share updates and success stories from the rescues and sanctuaries we support.

Are your products safe for all dogs?

Our products are formulated with input from veterinarians and tailored to meet the unique skin and coat needs of dogs. That said, every dog (just like every person) is a bit different; always check with your veterinarian if you're unsure.

Can I support Dog Moxie beyond buying products?

Yes! You can support us by spreading the word about our mission, following us on social media, or donating directly to our partner rescues and sanctuaries. Together, we can make a bigger difference for underdogs in need.

What is "human-grade" anyway?

We define human-grade as meeting the levels for human beauty use in terms of sourcing, quality. manufacturing, and safety standards. We comply with labelling and claims requirements similar to those for human skincare. Not all pet product manufacturers comply with regulations, and we are committed to providing products with the same quality you expect for yourself.

As skincare science nerds, we want every pet parent or guardian to understand where their products come from, what they do, and how they work. Following human-grade standards is a key way to achieve this.

How do you select and test your ingredients?

We first select ingredients and their concentrations based on scientific literature, and ensure they are safe for use on dogs by working with veterinarian toxicologists. Once we have a formulation we like, we use gentle, objective methods of testing (like swabbing dog paws and growing the bacteria in an incubator - that's how we came up with our essential oil blend!).
