Leslie and Angie, the passionate founders of Dog Moxie, turned a shared love for dogs and decades of skincare expertise into a mission-driven brand. Frustrated by the lack of effective dog care products and a lack of awareness about the most vulnerable homeless dogs, they set out to "feed two birds with one scone".

As a skincare junkie, dog foster, and End-of-Life Animal Doula, Dog Moxie came from the hunger to create something meaningful for dog parents and the community. It all started years ago with my first dog, Ally, a 3-year-old rescue terrier who made it almost to 15. She had a great run.
Living in NYC, I knew first hand that the streets were NOT paved with gold, but there wasn't an effective way to clean her paws without harsh ingredients that stripped them of nutrients. Trust me - I decoded the ingredient lists (if the products even had them - it's not always the case in pet care). I called my friend Angie, a brilliant chemist, scientist, and partner-in-crime for many successful skincare launches together. We challenged ourselves to invent a solution that would be as effective and thoughtful as human skincare, but made for the biology of dogs in mind.

Like many of you, I’ve always loved dogs, but I wasn’t allowed pets growing up because of what they’d track into the house (we couldn't even wear shoes indoors). And now living with an allergic family (sigh), I've had to get my dog fix through social posts, videos, and photos of other people's dogs.
When Leslie shared the idea of dog skincare, I was all in, no question. After years of formulating human haircare and skincare at work, it was liberating to start from scratch and apply this knowledge to dogs’ unique needs. I wanted to create effective, science-led products where every ingredient serves a purpose—for dogs and compassionate clean freaks alike.
