Finally Home Senior Dog Rescue and Retirement Home, located in North Yarmouth, Maine, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing loving homes for homeless senior dogs.
Founded in 2019 by Laurie Dorr, the rescue focuses on dogs who have spent extended periods in shelters, whose owners can no longer care for them due to medical issues, or who come from seniors moving into assisted living facilities.
Our Mission
The mission of Finally Home is to offer senior dogs a forever home where they receive nutritious food, quality veterinary care, and all necessary comforts during their remaining years. The organization also networks to find homes for senior dogs and provides financial assistance to help them remain with their owners whenever possible.
Meet Our Seniors
At Finally Home, each dog has a unique story. For instance, Bama, a 14-year-old who loves treats and stuffed animals, came from Alabama after his owner passed away. Stanley, who joined the rescue at 15.5 years old, enjoys walks and treats and has adjusted well to his new environment.
How You Can Help
Supporters can contribute to Finally Home's mission by donating to fund veterinary care, food, grooming, and other necessities for the dogs. Volunteering opportunities are also available for those who wish to get involved directly.
